Elope in Massachusetts
Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Cape Cod is not a town or city, but the part of Massachusetts that juts out from the coast. It starts at the Cape Cod Canal, a man-made waterway which is crossed by two bridge, the Bourne Bridge and the Sagamore Bridge. It runs all the way out to Provincetown, a fantastic place to bike the dunes and enjoy the miles and miles of beaches. Check out our Cape Cod Elopement Package at the Sea Meadow Inn in Brewster – voted Best Inn in 2012 and 2013 by Cape Cod Magazine. Also check out Captain Farris House in S. Yarmouth. Rentals of all playthings – bikes, kayaks, beach paraphernalia – are available in many shops along the way – it’s a water lover’s paradise. Elope to Cape Cod – it will take your breath away!
Nantucket, Massachusetts
The island of Nantucket is enchanting and you will fall in love with this special place once you reach the docks and head up the main street with all it’s speciality shops and wonderful ocean views. Eloping to Nantucket would best be done off-season. July and August are so busy, it’s hard to even get a ticket on the ferry. The Daffodil Festival is celebrated the last weekend in April. May weather is usually warm too. Eloping in Nantucket would give you a lifetime of memories!
Martha’s Vineyard
The Vineyard is just a 45 minute ferry ride from Falmouth, MA. It is recommended that you DO NOT take your car to the island. The island comes alive starting Memorial Day weekend and the Falmouth ferry runs until mid-October. This island is very charming, known for its cute Victorian houses in Vineyard Haven, just a short walk from one of the Ferry Landings. Plan your wedding for mid-week, as it is very busy on weekends.
The Berkshires
Consider eloping in the Berkshires. There are a number of towns to choose from – Great Barrington. Hancock, Lee and Lenox, Stockbridge and Williamstown. This area features arts and culture – it is the summer home of the Boston Pops Orchestra. Historic villages including Hancock Shaker Village which is open from April thru October. The Norman Rockwell museum Outdoor activities include hiking, biking, white water rafting, fishing, and skiing.
There are over a dozen summer mansions built in the late 1800s and early 1900s fashioned after the “summer cottages” in Newport, RI, for those New Yorkers and Bostonians who wanted a different social scene.
